Owing to popular demand, I’ll be hosting a mini-retreat in the period between Christmas and New Year. This is a wonderful time of year to dedicate some time and space to support yourself as you reflect on the previous year and begin to turn towards your intentions for the new year. It can also be a time of holiday activities and family commitments. This retreat is designed to accommodate both - we will spend 90 minutes together each day for five days (sessions will be recorded in case you can’t attend live), exploring a range of practices within a retreat container which is designed to hold you as you spend the rest of the day in whatever way works best for you - whether that’s meditation practice, outings with family, or eating Quality Street and wondering what day of the week it is…

Julie will take you through a series of postures, movements and the breath all to land in peace and quiet like a call back to your SELF.

Many are curious about what happens on an average day of the training. Whilst the assortment in what is covered over each module is huge, the 20 days to tend to follow a format somewhat similar to what you will find below, and in more detail in a PDF we have put together to learn more, which you can find via the link in our bio.

07:00 - 08:15 Yoga.

We always start the day with a class, making our way through an assortment of series from the manual to give trainees an introduction to the breadth of alternate experiences of the self that Kundalini Global classes can bring.

08:15 - 08:45 Practicum.

After the class, trainees are sent off in small groups. This may be to teach each other part of what we have worked with in the morning’s series in or it may be to discuss named aspects of the class such as ‘how was it to be taught in an extremely gentle way?’

08:45 - 09:30 Breakfast.

09:30 - 11:15 Lecture and Q&A with Group Work

We will often continue our day with a lecture, exploring one of the key aspects of the syllabus for that weekend. Participants will be put into groups for peer discussion to help consolidate learning.

11:00 - 11:15 Short Break

11:15 - 13:00 Practical Aspects of Learning E.g. A Posture Workshop or exploring breath, meditation etc.

13:00 - 14:15 Lunch

14:15 - 14:30 Questions

Carolyn usually begins the afternoon with an opportunity for trainees to bring any questions that have come up over the lunch break.

14:30 - 15:45 Lecture or Workshop

During the afternoon session we may go deeper in to an aspect that came in during the morning or we may come to a whole new topic.
Space is always given for questions and breaths and stretches are woven into the teaching as needed.

15:45 - 16:00 Short Break

16:00 - 17:00 Questions and Checkout.

17:00 Supervision

At 17:00 we will either end for the day or take a break and then come back together for supervision. For more on what supervision is and involves see the FAQs on our website.

This Saturday. A free, live, Zoom call with @carolyncowanofficial in which you can learn more about our upcoming, 220-hour, yoga teacher training.

Our next training begins in May. Set over five, four-day, modules. The training is online, with two optional in person modules.

Kundalini Global is Kundalini Yoga done differently. With its foundations in understanding the body and mind of the 21st Century human, our training will equip teachers with much-needed, expert, knowledge on:

- The hormones of stress and how yoga can help in changing hormonal flow.
- The vagus nerve and the nervous system.
- The limbic system and how to work with a mind that has been weaponised by social media, the internet, and modern life.
- The fascia and how to work with it.
- The major muscles of the body and how stretching and/or building strength within them can radically change how you feel.

Our training goes far beyond the physical, with a deep dive into cults of thought, into religious belief systems, into the roots of yoga and more. We will find each trainees gold and how they can work with it to be a teacher who truly helps the other in creating their own change.

In this live call, on Saturday morning, Carolyn will talk over the training, what to expect and what a day on the training looks like. She will answer any questions and you may even meet some of our graduates.

@franziska_francoise is a Kundalini Global teacher who draws on over a decade of experience in the well-being space and yoga.

Her journey includes an academic background with an MA in Cultural Studies and Arts from Goldsmiths.

Beyond her work in well-being, she is an actress based in Germany, merging her love for movement, dance, somatics, and film into a unique tapestry.

She is currently teaching at Sha-La Berlin.

Kundalini Global teachers are self-initiated. We are tasked, throughout our training and beyond, to shed (or, at the least, deeply examine) our ‘cult thought,’ be ourselves, and bring our humanity into how we approach the role of being a yoga teacher.

People who have practised Kundalini Yoga in other forms are sometimes surprised by how slowly we tend to move. Particularly when it comes to postures they are familiar with such as Spinal Flex or Spinal Twists.

This is a conscious choice born of an understanding of the physiological and psychological impact of slow, mindful, considered, movement, where we can explore the sensations of the body as we move.

It often allows for a more embodied practise to emerge for the practitioner.

Day Two of our 40 Day Challenge. Practise the first part of our opening sequence with Reverend John Russell, a Kundalini Global teacher who is also a part of the faculty for our 220 Hour Level One Teacher Training.

John is an Anglican priest, a member of the Quakers and a trained spiritual director. Previously, he’s worked as a university academic and a Human Rights Lawyer. He got clean and sober in 2012, and lived with Benedictine monks in Yorkshire for 3 years.

He served as Assistant Curate at St Luke’s in Chelsea, and then as Associate Rector at St James’s Piccadilly.

He is currently the Acting Lead for Spirituality at the London Jesuit Centre in Mayfair where he runs the embody programme and teaches Kundalini Global in the context of Christian spirituality.

John teaches Kundalini Global as a fun, playful and accessible spiritual practice that helps people towards a place of stillness and safety in which a transformative encounter with their version of the divine becomes more possible.

Our teachers are a diverse group of humans with a shared aim to work toward radical inclusivity in our classes.

Mastering The Addictive Personality: The Path Out

Mastering The Addictive Personality: The Path Out of Hell, a seven day training with @carolyncowanofficial is back on Zoom for the first time since 2021.

15th-21st June 2024.

Carolyn has been asked many times, over the last few years, if she will run MAP online again and she has listened.

This seven day training works excellently via Zoom and this Kundalini Global training, focused on understanding and working with the addictive or anxious personality, being available online is important owing to the global nature of this community.

This training is open to all who identify as having an addictive or anxious nature, and to those from all styles of yoga practice (or no yoga practice at all).

We will explore the background to the anxious or addictive nature., discovering what we can do to “change how we feel” in a way that does not create more harm, more disconnect, more isolation.

This training is a “personal” experience, but if you wish to gain a certification as a yoga teacher for addiction recovery to be able to run your own classes, or to teach in prisons and rehabilitation centres, this experience will equip and certify you.
